  3. This is a complete product replacement and therefore should only
  4. be distributed to customers with Version 1.3x of LSP.
  5.  
  6. This package is made up of the following files:

  8. LSP135 DSK - 3.5" 1.44Mb File
  9.  
  10. The file once downloaded with the binary option, needs to
  11. be unpacked using LOADDSKF onto a 3.5" 1.44Mb diskette.

  16. OVERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS
  17. The IBM Local Area Network (LAN) Support Program Version 1.35
  18. provides Network Basic Input/Output System (NETBIOS) and IEEE 802.2
  19. software interfaces to support network application programs that
  20. utilize network adapters on the IBM Token-Ring Network, the
  21. broadband IBM PC Network, and the baseband IBM PC Network, Ethernet
  22. networks and IBM FDDI Networks.
  23.       It supports the function and operational environment of the
  24. IBM Local Area Network Support Program Version 1.2 (96X5678) and
  25. extends this support to the IBM FDDI adapter.
  26.       The Local Area Network (LAN) Support Program Version 1.3 has
  27. been extended to support the IBM Fiber Distributed Data Interface
  28. (FDDI) network through the addition of IEEE 802.5 Network Device
  29. Interface Specification (NDIS) support.
  30.       The installation aid has been redesigned to provide easier
  31. NDIS adapter configuration.

  33. PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS
  34. o   IBM PC Disk Operating System (DOS) Version 3.3, 4.0 or 5.0.
  35. o   For Ethernet cards, an NDIS device driver.  The drivers are not
  36.     available with the IBM LAN Support Program.
  37. o   For FDDI cards, an NDIS device driver.  The drivers are not
  38.     available with the IBM LAN Support Program.

  41. CONTENTS of FIXES.DAT
  42. This file contains the list of fixes that have been made to the
  43. IBM LAN Support Program since Version 1.3.

  45. LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.35
  46. Please refer to the READ.ME file on the Install diskette for a list of
  47. enhancements in LAN Support Program Version 1.35.

  49. DXME0MOD.SYS
  50. LP01063  Fixed DXME0MOD.SYS to set the maximum number of data
  51.          blocks across the NDIS interface to 8 (the NDIS specification
  52.          says 8 is the minimum value for this field).  This prevents
  53.          transmits from failing with a x'23' return code if an NDIS
  54.          MAC driver incorrectly reports that it supports less than
  55.          8 data blocks.
  56. LP01064  Fixed DXME0MOD.SYS to work correctly with the Alt-Break key
  57.          sequence for PC/3270.
  58. LP01065  Updated DXME0MOD.SYS to use the DOS function calls to set
  59.          the timer interrupt vector.  This fixes a hang problem
  60.          that occurs on some Value point machines when using RIPL
  61.          with DXME0MOD.SYS.
  62. LP01067  Updated the network status path in DXME0MOD.SYS.  This
  63.          corrects the problem where subsequent network statues are
  64.          note reported when the adapter is reopened after a network
  65.          status causes the adapter to close.

  67. LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.34
  68. Please refer to the READ.ME file on the Install diskette for a list of
  69. enhancements in LAN Support Program Version 1.34.
  70. DXME0MOD.SYS
  71. HS00520  Increased the maximum value of the MAX_I_FIELD parameter in the
  72.          DLC.OPEN.SAP command from 4,905 to 17,954.  This change was to
  73.          support the maximum size frame that can be sent on a 16 mbps
  74.          token- ring network.

  76. LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.33
  77. Please refer to the Local Area Network Support Program Version 1.33
  78. User's Guide or READ.ME file on the Install diskette for a list of
  79. enhancements in LAN Support Program Version 1.33.

  81. DXMC0MOD.SYS AND DXMC1MOD.SYS
  82. HS00429  Corrected a problem that may happen when using an IBM Token-Ring
  83.          16/4 Adapter /A short card.  The problem is that a DLC.CONNECT
  84.          may fail to complete if the connect is not successful.
  85.          Corrected a problem found when using NOVELL RIPL.
  86.          The extended DIR.STATUS table has been updated to support
  87.          the NDIS LLC Support flag.

  89. DXME0MOD.SYS
  90. LP01040   DXME0MOD.SYS was updated to set all interface flags in its
  91.           lower dispatch table.  DXME0MOD.SYS was also updated to
  92.           return a "FRAME FORWARD" return code in all frames received.
  93.  
  94. LP01041   DXME0MOD.SYS was updated to support the X command line
  95.           parameter.  This parameter forces the old Ethernet adapter
  96.           type to be used for Ethernet adapters.  The X parameter is
  97.           needed to be compatible with applications running on Ethernet
  98.           that look for the old Ethernet adapter type (such as AS/400
  99.           PC Support Version 2, Release 2 and earlier, and Netware's
  100.           LANSUP.COM).

  102. HS00437   DXME0MOD.SYS has been updated to NOT issue a ResetMAC to
  103.           the MAC driver on DIR.INITIALIZE.  It has also been
  104.           updated so that a Close Adapter request will not be issued
  105.           to the MAC driver for DIR.CLOSE.ADAPTER or DIR.INITIALIZE.
  106.           This allows coexistence with multiple NDIS Protocol Stacks.

  108. HS00465   Corrected DIR.READ.LOG errors with IBM Token-Ring 16/4
  109.           Adapter II.
  110.  
  111. PL00123   DXME0MOD.SYS has changed the way it processes Network Status
  112.           changes to the application so that a status change of zero
  113.           can be handled correctly.

  115. LP01049   DXME0MOD.SYS has been changed to fix the way Interrupt
  116.           Requests are issued when using ODINSUP on Token-Ring.
  117.           Extended DIR.STATUS table has been updated to support the
  118.           NDIS LLC Support flag.

  120. DXMG0MOD.SYS AND DXMG1MOD.SYS
  121. Extended DIR.STATUS table has been updated to support the NDIS LLC

  125. LP01042   Corrected the problem where an NCB.HANGUP is issued immediately
  126.           after NCB.CALL and the NCB.HANGUP never completes.

  128. LP01043   Corrected the problem where DXMT0MOD.SYS is loaded from a
  129.           path containing a period and the error message "DXMT0 06:
  130.           Error reading message file (DXM.MSG)" is displayed even
  131.           though DXM.MSG is present.

  133. LP01045   Corrected the problem where a network error occurs that closes
  134.           adapter and pending NCBs never complete.
  135.  
  136. LP01050   Corrected errors when running with PiggyBack Ack on. The
  137.           problem will go away when the keyboard PBA=0 is added to
  138.           the DXMT0MOD command line.

  140. LP01051   Corrected the problem where an NCB.SEND is issued immediately
  141.           after NCB.CALL on very fast machines and the NCB.SEND
  142.           does not complete successfully.

  144. LP01053   Corrected the problem where an NCB.RECEIVE completes with x'06'
  145.           return code, but the returned value in the NCB.LENGTH field is
  146.           smaller than the value of the NCB.LENGTH field when the
  147.           command was issued.

  149. DXMAID.EXE
  150. PL00105   Added a specific error message for DXMAID for not enough
  151.           memory to load the message file.

  153. HS00383   DXMAID.EXE was updated to support NIFs with no parameters.

  155. HS00456   DXMAID.EXE was corrected to treat CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT
  156.           without a terminating x'0D' or x'0A' properly.
